If it has already been accepted by KDP, then 24 hours in my experience. Add two days to that if you’re publishing paperback only. These are maximums. I’ve had the paperbacks appear on my Amazon book page within eight hours after being approved on.   If you’ve ever thought about writing a book, you’ve undoubtedly read that it takes “6 months to a year” to write a book. Or you’ve heard the stories from authors like J.K. Rowling, author of Harry Potter, who said it took her 5 years to write her first book Harry Potter book.

Is it a difficult book? Some books are meant to be read slowly, so as to be understood better. Pick a simpler book if you are bogging down. Perhaps you can return to the harder book at some point. It may be that you've picked a book on someone's.   “Art is long, life is short,” so goes an ancient aphorism. Of late it seems to mean a lifetime isn’t long enough to read a good book.

Fans of your first book will be more likely to read your second one, and readers who discovered you with your third book will, if they liked that novel, go back and read your other two. If you take too long to publish your next book, there's some chance your readers will forget all about you -- or so goes the thinking among those marketing.   The below infographic shows how long it takes to read each book in the Old Testament (see our New Testament infographic as well). While we shouldn’t rush through our reading, there is a benefit to reading through an entire book in one sitting. It gives you a greater appreciation for the flow of the book and helps you to understand the broad.
